Microsoft Business Chat - Edit in Pages! How to use it?

You probably have heard about it already if you watched the Microsoft - Wave 2 Broadcast 16.9.2024 There was plenty of new stuff. But on this blog we will concentrate on the Edit in Pages update.

What is it? It’s a Loop page that will appear right next to your Business Chat search. Basic idea of this feature is, that when you search something, you will have the possibility to edit that answer in pages. And when you click on that button, it will create you a Loop Page.

Here you can see an example image.

On the left side, you can see the Edit in Pages button, right below our Business Chat search. And from there you can easily open that Loop page.

Well, what can you do there? You can do the same stuff that you would do in Loop, and you can invite your colleagues to edit that also. So many possibilities to choose from.
And, of course, Copilot is there too ;)

Here is the view when you go to office.com and you look to your left side of the page. There you can find your familiar M365 buttons. And now you can also find the “Pages” button. The rolling out is still going on. (10.10.2024)

And when you open that Pages button you will get this view, with your own searches, of course.

If you look closely, you can see a + sign at the upper left side. That is where you can create your pages yourself, if you want.

Share Pages link.

You can share your Loop Pages, as you can see on this picture.
- Share page link
- Share Loop component
- Add to workspace (this is a cool feature, if you already have a workspace, then you can just add your Page/s to your workspace)

Copy component.

If you want to give access to your Pages, you can share a Page link or you can Copy component.

Shared locations

Here you can find your shared locations.

Questions have been asked from Business Chat

This is the view, when you have asked something from Business Chat, and when the answer comes to the screen, you can see that Edit in Pages button.

Pages button at the left side bar was only visible in one tenant (10.10.2024). But I would say that it’s coming soon.

What is created when a user creates a Copilot Page?

A Copilot Page comes to life in your files ecosystem as a .loop file in a new user-owned SharePoint Embedded container. There are two main concepts to Loop: files and containers.

  • Files: Loop pages and components are .loop files. Copilot Pages are displayed on the right hand side of a Copilot Business Chat. When shared as a component they are displayed as little interactive boxes in Microsoft 365 apps (this is how Loop components work). IT admins manage these .loop files just like any other files (.docx, .pptx, .xlsx, etc.). They support all the features of the SharePoint file system.

  • Containers: Copilot Pages are stored in a new user-owned SharePoint Embedded container, one per user. All content that Loop stores in SharePoint Embedded containers count against the tenant's SharePoint quota. All your governance and compliance processes apply the same way they would to a user's OneDrive.

Coming up features:

- Pages button is still rolling out
- Edit with Pages does not work yet in every single mode of Business Chat. Start with inside your Teams (work mode)
