Microsoft Whiteboard for education! Is it worth it?
Yes it is! I’ll say it right from the beginning, and I’ll show you why.
You can add it to your own channel, or you can use it in your meeting. You can edit it yourself or with others in your meeting. Of course, there are apps for Windows, IOS and Android but we will stick to the Teams Whiteboard on this Blogpost.
You can choose the editors.
This is the blank page of Whiteboard. Let’s go through all the components and what we can do with them.
Three different pencils, eraser, marker and lasso select. Pick your own colours and pen size. Endless possibilities.
Choose your own board name.
You can choose three different categories: Select, Inking or Create. Select part is mainly to move objects around in your board, Inking is drawing of course and Create section is to create something new, and let’s dive into that next.
Notes, Text, Shapes, Reactions, Images, Templates and documents. First we pick Notes.
12 different colors of Notes, and same amout of Note grids to choose from.
Here you can type text, change color, bring it to front or send it back. Copy it, delete it, add Alt text. So many things you can do.
On the Shapes page, you can choose between 12 different shapes, and of course, you can edit these shapes when you click on them.
8 different Reactions to choose.
You can bring your own images to the whiteboard and edit them as well.
Here are some templates for your boards, to help get creative.
Learning templates look like this.
And as you can see the Documents part is pretty useful. You can bring your own PowerPoints and PDF:s to this whiteboard, and you can even choose if you have many pages on your powerpoint. Just pick the best ones and add them on your whiteboard as images.
Sometimes we all click on the wrong page or object. Luckily, whiteboard has Undo and Redo buttons on the upper left corner.
On the wheel button you can Export your board to a PNG image, enhance inked shapes automatically, choose if others can edit or not. And of course Format backgroung.
In Format background, you can change Grid and colour.
As I told you in the beginning, whiteboard is worth it. You can easily create beautiful boards with your class, or by yourself. or in different groups. Last but not least, check out what is coming to Whiteboard this year. (2021)
External access, locking content, Storage in Onedrive… Whiteboard is getting better day by day, or month by month :) But that’s all for now, hope you liked it. See ya on the next one. o/
